Colt Lightning S.F.P. 44 $6000

Here we have extremely rare antique medium frame Colt Lightning in .44-40, one of 401 made for the San Francisco Police Department. It is marked S.F.P. 93 on the lower tang. This rifle is in very good condition overall. Receiver shows some patina and light scratches, barrel shows a couple spots of freckling and some other minor where, magtube shows minor finish loss, wood is solid with a few minor dings and scratches, butt plate has a series of small dents. It appears as though it may have been refinished at some point with some signs on the wood and the Colt marking on the receiver being somewhat faded, but the barrel markings appear sharp. The action is smooth and everything appears to be in good working order. The bore looks very good for a rifle of this age, it is bright with a few spots of pitting.
