Antique Remington Hepburn 45-70 $2200

Here we have an antique Remington Hepburn 1879 No. 3 Sporting rifle in .45-70 made by E. Remington & Sons. Estimated to be manufactured between 1880 and 1888. It has a 30" octagonal barrel.

The metal surfaces are a patina, with some light spots along the edges of the barrel. Barrel also has a handful of small dings. The wood shows a variety of dings and scratches. It appears to be missing a little bit of wood at the bottom of the forend, where it meets the receiver. There is also a small repair on the stock, to the left of the top tang. The bore is quite good for a rifle of this age, fairly shiny in the front and frosty with a bit of pitting towards the rear. Appears to function properly.
